Its all about using a bicycle to purify water for household use. Paul Berg created this invention with third world counties in mind. It is a safe easy way for them to obtain safe drinking water. It uses an ultraviolet bulb to disinfect the water. Actually, he tells us that the city of Seattle uses a similar technology to disinfect their water. The bulb only requires about 25 watts of power to purify the water and the bicycle only takes about one minute to clean the water. The bulb should last for about 5 years, helping deliver safe drinking water!
I think this is an awesome invention and could be used all over the world to bring safe drinking water to people who don't have easy access to clean water already. It could aid in the prevention of diseases and also hydrate people where clean water in scarce. What do you think??
